Webinar: scientific aspects to consider when preparing a novel food application
12:30- 14:00 (GMT+01:00)
Summary
EFSA presented the key scientific issues regarding the required compositional and toxicological data as outlined in its guidance document on the preparation and presentation of an application for authorisation of a novel food in the context of Regulation of Regulation (EU) 2015/2283. EFSA scientists provided advice on how to set up and present specifications and descriptions of production processes. They used examples from past novel food applications assessed by EFSA to illustrate the key elements when setting up the toxicological testing strategy.
A total of 279 people registered for the webinar, out of which 151 participated in the online session. More than 50 questions submitted by participants during the webinar were answered by a small team from EFSA Nutrition Unit.
