Info Session on Funding opportunities in the EFSA 2023 Workplan

Summary

EFSA organised a 3-hour online info session to present its partnership strategy, cooperation opportunities (i.e. the expected calls for grant and tender) in its 2023 draft work plan and the corresponding administrative and financial framework.

The event comprised two parts:

The partnership framework:

• Strategic considerations
• Administrative and financial aspects of EFSA's outsourcing mechanism
• The Focal Point network

Overview of partnership opportunities based on EFSA's draft 2023 work plan:

• Current and planned calls in the plant health area
• Planned calls under the Partnership for Environmental Risk Assessment
• Current and planned calls supporting EFSA's scientific work
• Outlook on the work for risk assessment preparedness

The event was hosted on the Teams Live platform and was attended by more than 180 participants. A strong level of interest and engagement from members of the audience was indicated by the number of questions received. The presentations were well-received and feedback suggests that conducting such an outreach activity is appreciated by Member State representatives.

The results of the evaluation survey  conducted after the event show that participants found the event a relevant learning opportunity, which increased  their understanding  of EFSA’s administrative procedures for  outsourcing and their awareness of  upcoming funding opportunities. Attendees described the program as “very useful”, and suggested that this event is repeated  on a yearly basis.
